Arson
Arson was a Border Collie owned by Nadine Gremm.
Arson was born on a farm in Kentucky. He was Nadine's first border collie, and everybody had always told her how easy border collies were to train. Well, those people did not know Arson. Nadine often said that if Arson had been the only border collie she had ever met, she would have told people they were nuts for wanting to own border collies. He was extremely independent and did everything on his own terms.
As a typical gawky adolescent border collie, Arson's ears went every-which-way. They flopped forward, they went out to the side, one even went prick and flopped backwards at the tip for a while. But after Nadine taught him the command "Good ears!” he had beautiful ears forever after that.
He loved the water and loved to swim. For a long time early in his training, Arson would only get a red tennis ball out of the box. He debuted in 2003 and had earned his TFP-II and FMX. He would run flawlessly for anyone in any position and was well-known for re-gripping his tug if you took your eyes off him (making his handler that day thankful that he/she had decided to wear gloves!).
One of Arson's jobs at home was collecting the food bowls out of the crates after all of the dogs were finished eating. He did his job very well, and even taught himself to flip the bowls that had ended up upside-down so that he could pick them up in his mouth and gather them up for the next meal.
He was one of the most photogenic dogs of all time and loved having his picture taken. If you ever tried to take pictures of another dog, you would find Arson posing for his own portraits a short distance away. He was a beautiful, beautiful dog, and he knew it.
Arson left us far, far too soon, and the entire TNG family will miss him greatly.
