Bryson
Damage Du Chenil Victoire
Bryson was a Belgian Malinois owned by Brett Williams.
Bryson started his career in 1995 as a member of Lickety Splits in San Diego before moving to Las Vegas to join Touch N Go in 1997. He was one of the first Malinois to play flyball on the west coast and helped our team earn its nine consecutive region 6 Multibreed championships. I am certain that the popularity of the Malinois in flyball on the west coast is in large part because of Bryson. He was one in a million. He was taught to play flyball on a flexi-lead long before 4 footed turns were even a thought in anyone's mind. Bryson was 4.0-4.1 in his prime at any jump height in any position.
Bryson was a big dude with a huge goofy heart. He often carried around his babies (super sized carnival type stuffed toys) and would lay and clean them as if they were real. While he loved everyone, he had only eyes for his dad in flyball. We tried many times to get Bryson to run for someone else and no-go: it was his dad or nothing. While a sweetie off the field, in the ring he was all business.
Bryson traveled all over the southwest, competing and performing in demos for the Phoenix Suns, Harlem Globetrotters, Petapaloozas, Earth Day Festivals, and Shaquille O'Neal's "Shaqtacular" held at Universal Studios.
He retired from active racing in 2004 as the #1 Malinois in flyball. He was the first of his breed to earn the ONYX, FGDCh and FGDCh-40k and was voted region 6 MVP in 2002.
Although he was retired from flyball, he still attended tournaments to root on his teammates and tell the youngsters how to do it. He was last seen at the Fetchin' Frenzi tournament last month, barking ringside and letting everyone know he was still the man and he could whip their butts any day.
Bryson, you personally set a standard for Mals that I don't think any Mal today can live up to. Every Mal I ever see, I compare to you. You had the heart, drive and work ethic of 10 dogs. I counted on you so many times, and not once did you ever let me down. It was a pleasure to know and work with you. TNG will never forget you.
Godspeed you big goof!
